Royal Avebe's water use has been significantly reduced in recent years. "We have partly achieved this through reuse," explains Kees Maarschalk, Technology & Process officer at Avebe: "We use the same water in more process steps. The advantage is clear. We draw in less surface water and we also discharge less. Now we have to take the next important step!”

🌱 Inspired Visit to Aqualia & Fertiberia in Andalusia: Innovations in Water Conservation and Soil Fertility! 🌊
I’m excited to share some reflections after an inspiring visit to the remarkable companies Aqualia and Grupo Fertiberia in Andalusia. Seeing their commitment firsthand to sustainable water conservation and soil fertility was both insightful and energizing.
Both companies are trailblazing in innovations that support balanced soil health, water systems, and nutrient cycles. Their projects All-gas and BFerst offer a promising roadmap toward energy and material savings. These initiatives are also crucial in reducing Europe's dependency on imported fertilizers, which contributes to greater self-sufficiency and ecological sustainability.
Special shout-out to TRICHODEX! Their vast expertise and impressive product portfolio of biostimulants and biofertilizers are game-changers, delivering invaluable support to natural soil processes. We left this visit with renewed inspiration and a deep respect for the vital work being done in sustainable agriculture and water management.
Looking forward to seeing how these insights will shape the future of our industry!
